A lot of times you will find that things such as mouth wash products are not allowed into the facilities because they contain alcohol and can be used for other purposes other than what the manufacturer intended them for. You will definitely need to bring at least a week’s worth of clothing and all of your hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste. Most rehab programs will have laundry facilities where you will be able to wash your clothes but you will need to bring laundry detergent and quarters for the washing machines and dryers.
Once you get to the rehab facility your first day will be intake which will consist of a lot of paperwork and medical professional accessing the severity of your addiction. You will be asked a lot of questions about your addiction and how often and how much you are using and it’s very important that you be honest about everything. This will help them know exactly what kind of treatment you need in order to help you beat your addition. You should also get a tour of the building so you will know where everything is located and then you will be escorted to your room so you can get yourself settled.
Most rehab programs don’t allow you to have visitors during the first seven to ten days. This is because your body is going through the detox stage. Once you make it past this point in the program they will allow you to have visitors on the scheduled visitation days and you will also be able to have phone calls. You will need to prepare your family before you enter into the program and let them know that they will have no contact with you for about a week when you first enter into the program.
